I’d like to say a huge WELCOME BACK! to all of our children and families. It has been so wonderful to see you all this past week and I have particularly enjoyed meeting our new pupils and their families.
The children have settled in remarkably quickly and appear to appreciate having some familiar routines. The weather has been kind so there has been lots of outdoor fun to help them settle and get used to the school days once more. We have also welcomed two new members of staff, Miss Carter and Miss Keeling.
Class 5 had a lovely walk to a local park and came back looking like they’d had a mud bath!! They had a ball.
Class 1 have already come up with some good suggestions for improving our outdoor area, so thank you to them.
Our topic this term is Space and we have a very exciting visitor coming into school on Monday – watch out for the photos next week 🙂
We have been learning about the different planets in our solar system and some amazing artwork has been produced. I really am proud of how they have all settled in to our “new normal”.
I couldn’t end without a thank you to all of our staff who have ensured that every one of the children has felt safe and welcome. Some of our new pupils have been out of education for an incredibly long time and have understandably been very anxious about returning to a new school. The fact that they’ve all attended for full days and have all left for the weekend with a big smile on their faces is testament to the hard work of the whole team, so a big thank you to you all.
We will have lots of photos for you next week as usual. Have a lovely weekend 🙂
