I am a parent governor for Spring Brook and my son attends the Upper school.
My career has been in film and finance and has seen me travel the world to find and tell people’s stories in some very unique ways. I’m now a full time mum and part time artist. I care deeply about equality.
I became a parent governor after my own experience in finding an appropriate school for my son along with the difficulties we all face as parents of children with additional needs.
The schools are a place of real change, real inspiration, real support and for me, the role of governor gives me a chance to be involved with the present and the future of a dynamic provision.
Every child matters. I believe in an education for all children. No matter how hard it is for a child to access education, I feel we have a responsibility to tailor our offer so that access is fair.
Our approach to children’s education affects all of us in society both now and in the future. The lack of access to a fair education can have a huge impact on the quality of our lives, and I think that can be tremendously unfair to so many children. I love to see them reach their full potential!
I want to learn how to be part of a change within the education system, and this is a great place to start that process.
