It’s been a busy week at New Bridge as usual, a lot of stuff going on and lots of stories to tell!

Mrs Lamb called a school council meeting to discuss ideas for new adaptations to the school’s playground. The team also joining us, Hollinwood Academy, put forward phenomenal suggestions to make break and activities a lot more fun!

As many of you may know, this is mine and Matthew’s final year at New Bridge and we intend to go out with a bang. We’ve been having talks to hold a few events for the whole New Bridge Group. One idea that has been suggested is a tag rugby testimonial match for me and Matthew. We have more suggestions up our sleeves but the testimonial match will be the final #BattleOfTheBlogs (so far it’s 1-0 to me and I intend to make it 2-0).

This week with Activ8 we’ve been doing a lot of fitness and it was great to see the Key Stage 4 Activ8 catching up with the older boys which is an outstanding improvement. We’ve also been working in the gym, putting together an exercise programme to help us last longer in all our sports. I know you all know me as a bragger but I squatted 100kg in one rep! Next Wednesday our Activ8 team will be back in action at the One City disability football league. The boys are very prepared and ready to bring back the trophy to New Bridge!

As many people are aware, me and Matthew made a blog about cyberbullying which you can read here. We were grateful that people read and took notice and acknowledged that it’s wrong to cause distress to the New Bridge family. My blogs are hailed throughout the school with the role of head boy in tow, one person thinks he can do better!

I just want to send my wishes to my close friend Kyle who’s been unwell recently but is being like Mike Tyson, he is a fighting it off very well. It’ll be great to see his upcoming return to New Bridge very soon! We’re all thinking about you Kyle, the corridors are very quiet without you!

Hope you all enjoy your week!
