Apologies for the delay in posting my blog recently, I’ve had a busy schedule of revision and other things. Everyone has settled back into the routine after the break and is ready for the term ahead. On Wednesday I attended Medtia Square to start rehearsals for the drama production, Aladdin and Jasmine – I’ll be taking the role of the genie and I can’t wait for the main show to begin!
I was recently discussing the Haven Year 11 residential that’s coming up and the preparation of sorting caravans and numbers is underway, I’m counting down the days to that unforgettable week in Hafan Y Mor!
On Thursday Mr Greenway attended a meeting with Halifax rugby league player Luke Ambler who set up a group called Andy’s Man Club to help men across the UK battling depression. I’m glad to hear that we will be starting our own New Bridge Andy’s Man Club at Medtia Square on a Monday in the Lumenus room after school. Many thanks to Luke Ambler for the help and also to Mr Greenway for going that extra mile for others who need the support.
In Activ8 we’ve started rugby again and the boys heavily enjoyed Wednesday’s session, coming back to school covered in mud! Also four of us have started our video analysis for our full course PE GCSE, it’s a lot of work to put in but it’s for a great future in sport!
I’d like to thank everybody who recognised my last blog, it meant a lot that people acknowledged my powerful statement about giving those who need it a voice and never doubting people because they are different. Although the link on Facebook had to be taken down due to some negative comments, people still acknowledged it.
I’ll leave you with one more statement…people make mistakes and regret them but one thing I was told by my mentors, “a few mistakes don’t define you, it’s how you bounce back that defines you.”
Enjoy your week and I’ll try to make my blogs consistent once again!
