This week’s blog is all about one of my favourite subjects – food! Key Stage 4 have been cooking a variety of dishes from Italian favourites to good old English jam. We have some amazing master chefs here at Dean Street and both myself and Miss Rodgers have really enjoyed cooking with the students (just call us Mel and Sue from the ‘Bake Off’!)
Matthew made some delicious fajitas, both chicken and a vegetarian option which the staff eagerly sampled..
.. and came to the consensus that he can definitely cook them again!
The Nurture Group continue to join us on a regular basis and enjoy making both pasta and pizza dishes. We have also been fortunate enough to use some of our freshly grown ingredients thanks to Mrs Daniels in the Science department, including some home grown Dean Street herbs..
We have finally come to the end of the exam season and our students have done us proud. Last Tuesday saw Key Stage 4 students sitting the last of their 3 Maths GCSE papers. We are looking forward to results day on Thursday 24th August and we wish all our students the best of luck.
The weather recently has been incredibly hot and we are encouraging all our students to keep hydrated at all times and use sun protection cream to prevent any sore skin.
Despite the fact that we have crammed lots into the curriculum, my blog this week is quite short as I actually joined the New Bridge students for their Year 11 residential to Haven in Wales. I am sure there will have been lots of good things going on down at Dean Street and I am looking forward to catching up with all the news on Monday.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs Tootill
