This week brought what is always one of my favourite days in the school calendar, Children in Need day and as usual, Spring Brook did not disappoint. Staff and pupils dressed up (some in full Pudsey onesies – as you can see)..

..and everyone took part in lots of fun activities including chocolate roulette and the ‘full mouth challenge’ (to eat as many crackers, fruit pastilles and marshmallows in one go). I have to say – being fiercely competitive – I came an admirable 3rd in this competition. Just all in all, it’s been a brilliant day!

Mr Hopkins has also been out on his travels this week..

For Duke of Edinburgh’s this week it was time for getting more familiar with maps and beginning to think about planning walks for our Year 10s and 11s. After the morning debrief and planning session we went out to Blackstone Reservoir where luckily the rain stayed away so that the boys could appreciate the views over Manchester..

While we were out we also discussed how to deal with the weather in different situations while out on expedition..

Finally Key Stage 4 pupils met with Brook Advisory to talk about issues that our young people face – thanks to Mrs Roberts for organising the session.
