Well, this week has seen us kick off our Christmas celebrations with both a trip to the panto at Oldham Coliseum (oh no, we didn’t!) and our Christmas lunch, both on Wednesday..
The children dealt very well with this change to their routine and thoroughly enjoyed both events. Lucy, Kobi, Caitlin and Xavier in particular danced their way through the whole two hours of the show which was, as usual, very good.
We have our own show taking place on the evening of Monday 18th December. Every single child has a role so please make sure they are back in school on time – we need them to be here for 6pm with the show starting at 6.30pm. We always have an excellent turn out for our Christmas Production and you are welcome to bring extended family and friends too. We are also going to produce DVDs of the production again and orders for these need to be in as soon as possible. They are professionally produced by our very own Digit4ll Pathway so you won’t be disappointed – you can click here to place your order online.
Amongst all this jollity, there is still plenty of learning going on. Class 2 have been extending their writing skills by improving a paragraph they have read. This was actually even more difficult as the original text was in a picture book and they’ve had to think of lots of ideas themselves. To help with this, they have worked together to share their ideas and also used a wordbank. Mr Cruz was really pleased with their efforts..
Class 6 have been learning about Medusa and as well as writing activities, their Artwork has linked to this theme too..
They have had fun decorating their classroom with some Christmas decorations, and they have continued to learn about Greek Mythology in Literacy..
They have also built..
..and erupted their very own volcano! It was so exciting!
Class 4 have had a fantastic day out today to visit the real Father Christmas and behaved impeccably all day. Well done to you all.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, see you on Monday – hopefully with not too much snow!
