Mr Bright has exciting news for us about the work our Digit4ll pathway students have done this year with Young Enterprise..

Hi everyone! I’d like to end our Young Enterprise year by saying a massive ‘Congratulations!’ to all the Digit4ll students at Medtia. What a hugely successful year we have had! From the early beginnings of researching and deciding on our new products to sell (including personalised mobile phone cases), to choosing the company name ‘UnITe’ for 2018, trading at many events across Manchester, winning the ‘Company of the Year’ award for the Oldham borough and the ‘Best Use of IT’ award for the whole of Greater Manchester, then finally getting to meet and chat with the future king, Prince William..

..it has truly been our best year yet!!! On top of all that, we have had our best year of profit too. This year we have turned over £4,205 with a final profit of £3,050. It has been a monumental effort from all our team of students and staff and it began by having funds in our account from raising money from shares. So, as a shareholder of our Young Enterprise scheme, thank you for your support.

All our profits are divided and distributed to the shareholders of our enterprise, the students and staff, at the end of the year. So, if you have shares in the enterprise, please go to the school finance office at the Hollinwood Academy site. The final amount is £5.90 per share so feel free to collect the return on your shares..

Below is a breakdown of what you will receive, depending on how many shares you purchased at the beginning of the year..

  • 5 shares = £29
  • 10 shares = £59
  • 20 shares = £118
  • 25 shares = £147

I’d like to give a special thank you to Mr Handrick who has worked tirelessly in and out of school hours to ensure all the video production commissions we received met the deadlines..

We have been involved in some high profile projects this year; please take a look at a small sample of some of the stunning work by clicking on the links below..

I’d also like to thank Mr Slater who has overseen all the printing aspects of the enterprise. The quality of our printing has risen to such a high level since he has been supporting the students.

A special thank you must be given to the Karten Network who have funded the resources we use to run our enterprises. Without their generosity and support, we couldn’t have enjoyed such huge successes over the last couple of years – we were delighted to feature in their latest newsletter here too!

Please read over our journey and view some of the fantastic videos and photos from our incredible year in the links below…

We’re very proud of the hard work of all the staff and students involved, what an incredible year! Well done, everyone – let’s see what September brings….
