Mrs Preston is very proud to bring you news of Lumenus and their Spring tour..

Over the last two weeks, Lumenus have been touring their piece of theatre ‘Everyday Heroes’ around the Trust. They have performed and delivered workshops for a primary class at Hollinwood Academy..

..a Key Stage 3 class at New Bridge School..

..and two classes at Hawthorns School..

Lumenus devised the piece last term and it was first performed at the Christmas Showcase. The group have taken part in acting, music and devising workshops to enable them to create ‘Everyday Heroes’ and the accompanying workshop. They even created their own song for the piece and I am delighted to be able to share it with you here..

Lumenus wanted to create a piece of drama for young children all about Heroes – not Super Heroes but those people in their lives that make a difference to them. They wanted to help young people recognise that we can all be a Hero….an ‘Everyday Hero’.

I think the group fulfilled their brief perfectly and the performance has been well received by both staff and students alike..

Lumenus were very professional and have all proved themselves to be fabulous drama leaders. Very well done everyone!!
