Miss Thomason’s Blog – 4/11/22
After a week off at half term, it has been lovely to see our children come back ready to learn. You can see just how much we needed the rest from this lovely photo at the end of last half term!
This week has been all about exercise and fitness, with some exciting developments in our PE offer at Spring Brook Lower.
Mr Smith has started delivering gymnastics lessons this half term, and we’ve had rolls of all kinds happening during these sessions. Of course, the emphasis has been on performing these rolls safely, and I’m pleased to hear just how seriously our pupils took their responsibility to keeping themselves and their friends safe.
Elsewhere, Class 6 took part in a brilliant football based PE session. We shared the photo of the lads looking ready for a Champions League fixture. As a Salford City fan, this is probably the closest I’ll get to following my team into Europe, for now anyway!
So, as you can see, it’s been a very fitness orientated week at Spring Brook Lower, but I want to give a mention to Harry and Alfie as well…
The two worked on some Maths questions this week, carrying on even when they started to find things tricky.
Brilliant resilience, which is a transferrable skill that comes from taking part in sports and fitness incidentally!
Have a fantastic weekend and please remember to keep yourselves safe if attending any bonfires or fireworks displays.
